We offer a range of Asphalt surfacing solutions, deploying different materials based on specific customer needs, this means that we can tailor the design and composition of the surface to individual projects.

At Smiths of Stapleford we use comprehensive technological data and calculations to evaluate the hard black top surface and concrete materials needed for each individual client’s requirements. This allows us to ensure that the design and specification of the surface meet the client’s needs. Indeed, we recognise that the majority of our commercial clients require a lasting surface which will remain strong for as long as possible, our team are able to select the best materials and design to meet those expectations.

In several cases clients have opted for a hardwearing surface, allowing them to retain the same surface for 30 years or more. If necessary we can source soil survey information to include in our design specifications giving us composition and moisture content information. Additionally, we consult our suppliers and their technological expertise when required.

Roads & Car Parks

In the past we have worked on a number of private roads for resident associations which we have found to be highly successful. Likewise, we have worked extensively for local businesses constructing car parks, private roads and other smaller scale work.

The quality of our work stands the test of time, indeed several of our Asphalt projects have lasted over 30 years and remain in excellent condition.

Coloured Macadam

Our premium product range includes Coloured Macadam Laying. Smiths’ were the first local business to use Coloured Tarmac in the late 40’s and early 50’s and to this day still work with Coloured Macadam on both domestic and commercial work. Coloured Macadam tends to be more aesthetically pleasing but carries a premium price.

We are also able to undertake ‘surface dressing’, with a variety of aggregate and gravel finishes, to suit all decors.

Driveways & Footpaths

We are able to advise domestic clients as to the correct specifications and designs for both driveways and footpaths and can alter these to fit with the clients’ budget and needs.
